Description: An adaptation of Sophocles' Trachiniae also known as The Women of Trachis by the Barnard-Columbia Ancient Drama Group to be performed in the original ancient Greek. Music played a large role in ancient theater, both in the more reflective choral odes, and in the passionate arias which develop the drama of the story. Melody Loveless will be writing the music for this performance, infusing characteristics of ancient Greek music with her own personal style.
