A night of algorithmic A/V performances

Peter Seligman [NY]

Peter Seligman is an experimental dance music producer and dj living in New York. While sharing some affinities with techno, footwork, and noise, he avoids any familiar affiliation through constantly-shifting laptop sets, releases on a number of independent labels including Moss Archive, Conditional, and Tsuku Boshi, and an increasingly freeform approach to mixing. Peter is also half of rhythmic noise duo enn{kdog, along with Mysterious House.

Pittsburgh's {arsonist} (Danielle Rager) and Char Stiles use live coded audio and visuals to create simulated ecologies. Musical phrases dynamically constrain rules of automaton interactions, leading to the genesis and destruction of synthesized life forms and their sounds. The symbiotic exchanges of the virtual organisms mirror the macro system of feedback between the model and the humans generating the collaborative A/V experience.

Codie [NY]

Described by others as "alien pop", this music is made with love and code. The visuals aim to sweep you away.

Dave Koenig [NY]

Dave Koenig uses code to make his music. This is very impressive, because it means that Dave underwent difficult, technical training. Cool! Dave is interested in exploring ways of using art as a means to make intimidating appeals to computer science.
