Choephoroi: The Libation-Bearers

  • Minor Latham Playhouse 3009 Broadway New York, NY, 10027 United States (map)

Description: An adaptation of Aeschylus' Choephoroi: The Libation Bearers by the Barnard-Columbia Ancient Drama Group to be performed in the original ancient Greek. Music played a large role in ancient theater, both in the more reflective choral odes, and in the passionate arias which develop the drama of the story. This performance is directed by Anna Conser. Melody Loveless will be writing the music for this performance, infusing characteristics of ancient Greek music with her own personal style.
